Lyme and Beyond is a first-person account by Gene, a patient, and Zo, his partner and caregiver, of living with, healing from, and thriving beyond Lyme neuroborreliosis.
Gene’s story of illness and recovery was originally published in the form of many notes and newsletters to family and friends, from 2020 to 2024. Back then, we wanted to share news and also raise awareness, especially for loved ones living in tick-endemic areas, about tick-borne diseases, prevention, and the importance of early treatment.
Now, in 2025, we are publishing those notes and newsletters in the Substack Lyme and Beyond, sharing our personal story with the general public, in hopes that it will be of use and inspiring to others.
